And, of course, unpredictable weather! Winter sweeps over our island unrelentingly, making it necessary for travelers to pay close heed to the dynamic conditions at hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bonus&#8230;<\/strong><br>Did you also know that it is the season when radiant Auroras can be seen dancing across the sky as the<em>&nbsp;Northern Lights season<\/em>&nbsp;runs from 1st September, through winter, until mid April, normally. Compiled below are some of Hotel Cabin&#8217;s favorite places of interest in Reykjav\u00edk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reykjavik Old Harbour<\/strong> <br>Apart from being a nice place to walk with great views across the bay to Mount Esja, the Old Harbour area is where the you can find the majority of marine activities, such as whale watching tours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Harpa Concert Hall <\/strong>&#8211; <em>about 20 min walk from the hotel<\/em><br>Glittering like a jewel on the downtown waterfront is Harpa, Reykjav\u00edk&#8217;s new concert hall and conference center. The building is home to national cultural institutions like the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Icelandic opera as well as other performing arts. <gwmw style=\"display:none;\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hallgr\u00edmskirkja <\/strong>&#8211; <em> about 25 min walk from the hotel<\/em> <br>Hallgr\u00edmskirkja is Iceland\u2019s largest church and Reykjav\u00edk\u2019s most notable landmarks. The church sits high on Sk\u00f3lav\u00f6r\u00f0uholt hill making it visible from almost anywhere in the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>National Museum <\/strong>&#8211; <em>about 40 min walk from the hotel <\/em><br>Excellent overview of Iceland&#8217;s history and culture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Settlement Exhibition<\/strong> &#8211; <em>about 30 min walk from the hotel <\/em><br>Discover Viking Age history!
